How to create an AWS account

April 23, 2023 by Shan

Creating an AWS (Amazon Web Services) account is a relatively straightforward process. Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Go to the AWS website: Visit https://aws.amazon.com/ and click on the “Create an AWS Account” button in the upper-right corner of the page.

  2. Sign in or create a new Amazon account: If you already have an Amazon account, sign in with your email and password. If you don’t have an Amazon account, click on the “Create a new AWS account” button and follow the instructions to create one.

  3. Provide contact information: AWS requires some basic contact information to create your account, such as your name, email address, and phone number.

  4. Enter payment information: To use AWS services, you will need to enter valid payment information such as a credit card or bank account.

  5. Verify your identity: To prevent fraud, AWS requires you to verify your identity by phone. You will receive a call from an automated system and will need to enter a PIN number to verify your account.

  6. Select a support plan: AWS offers several support plans, including a free basic plan. Choose the plan that best meets your needs.

  7. Review and accept the terms and conditions: Carefully read the AWS Customer Agreement and select the checkbox to indicate that you accept the terms and conditions.

  8. Submit your information: Click the “Create Account and Continue” button to submit your information and create your AWS account.

  9. Verify your email address: After submitting your information, AWS will send a verification email to the email address you provided. Follow the instructions in the email to verify your email address and activate your AWS account.

Once you have completed the above steps you can start using AWS services.
